January 18, 2008 Saforian redesigns Handwriting Without Tears®

We are proud to launch the redesigned site for Handwriting Without Tears — one of the leading programs to help children develop good handwriting skills.

Saforian helped HWT reorganize their content architecture into more useful topical and audience-based navigation sections. The new design makes the web site more usable, and is fully incorporated with their existing ecommerce sites. This single integrated solution improves the overall user experience for customers and general visitors alike.

The new web site is built on the Drupal CMS to allow for multiple content authors and simplified publishing. Search engine optimization has been significantly improved by the use of clean URLs and semantic HTML. See for yourself why HWT makes great products to help children of all ages.

September 21, 2007 backup.com Homepage Enhanced for SEO

Saforian recently helped SwapDrive design and develop a new homepage for backup.com. Our new interface clarifies their sales message using an innovative and creative design. The homepage is also interactive—randomized and dynamically rotating testimonials allow for more content upfront instead of requiring users to drill-down to additional pages. As with all of Saforian’s work, client-side coding was produced using semantic HTML and progressively enhanced scripts to make the page accessible to keyboard navigation and assistive technologies.

Although backup.com’s latest web site that Saforian designed has been live for a year, we work under the philosophy that sites are never one-time creations to be left to stagnate. Our design methodology is cyclical; after launch, the creation process begins again. This includes gathering feedback for the new interface and analysis of areas that can be enhanced. Search engine optimization (SEO) plays a key role in this process because popular keywords and click-through goals change often. backup.com’s new homepage is just one example of Saforian’s effort to continuously improve our client’s impact on their visitors.

May 30, 2007 Now we're cooking [with Chef Roberto Donna]

Saforian's purpose is to help our clients enhance communication with their customers. To build upon this goal, we recently helped two of our clients launch personalized blogs.

The Roberto Donna blog for the famous chef of Bebo Trattoria and Galileo restaurants in the Washington, DC area will allow him to share cooking techniques, thoughts on Italian cuisine, and respond to newspaper restaurant critiques that don't have the facts right.

The Ski Blog for our recently launched Wagner Custom Skis and Snowboards site will provide news on Pete Wagner's unique manufacturing process and events around the Telluride, Colorado area.

May 9, 2007 Saforian supplies the icing for the Great American Bake Sale

Share Our Strength — a non-profit organization leading the fight to prevent childhood hunger in America — selected Saforian to design and code their Great American Bake Sale initiative.

Saforian worked closely with SOS to establish a clean navigation structure and engaging visual design that highlights the content with a tasteful flair. HTML templates were created with accessibility, web standards, and CMS back-end integration in mind.

February 15, 2007 Benchmark Ideas web site now more search engine optimized

Benchmark, a Cincinnati, Ohio ad agency that creates marketing and design solutions came to Saforian looking to improve the search engine ranking and accessibility of their site. We helped optimize and create web standards-based code to improve load times and overall performance. The site now is more scannable by search engines and usable to assistive technologies such as screen readers.

January 30, 2007 Northern Virginia Technology Council Site Launches

The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) has just launched their new web site with the help of Saforian's creative and development services. Their streamlined web presence provides a cleaner user interface and improved member experience.

NVTC is the membership association for the technology community in Northern Virginia. Promoting networking and creating opportunities for members to meet potential clients, build relationships, and learn about trends in the technology industry.

November 13, 2006 Saforian Wins Two W3 Design Awards

Saforian has the privilege to announce that The CNA Corporation has been selected as a Silver Winner in Charitable Organizations / Non-Profit for the 2006 W3 Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

Our own Saforian.com site has also won a Silver W3 Award as an Outstanding Interactive Design Firm.

The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites and marketing programs.

October 26, 2006 Saforian creates branding for Roberto Donna's new restaurant

Saforian would like to thank Bebo Trattoria for choosing us for their branding efforts for the new restaurant. The restaurant will be run by the famous Roberto Donna.

Trattoria — "A local eatery, less elegant than a ristorante and usually having a limited, seasonal menu of cook's specialties. Trattorie have traditionally been family operations of modest size and price, though in recent years many trattorie have become large and quite fashionable."

Fourpoints Communication has selected Saforian as their exclusive creative design partner.

July 11, 2006 Saforian partners with the Northern Virginia Technology Council

June 20, 2006 Saforian wins contract with SAIC and the USDA

Saforian is proud to work with SAIC and the USDA on a contract to redesign the 90+ web sites utilized by the NRCS. Saforian is tasked with helping the USDA reorganize and restructure all of the supporting National level centers that make up the NRCS.

April 13, 2006 Drink to the Terrapin! Saforian launches Terrapin Station Winery

Saforian has recently launched the web site for Terrapin Station Winery, a new vineyard being established in Elkton, Maryland. This growing site will feature construction photos, their wine-making philosophy, merchandise, and information on how to save the Diamondback Terrapin.

March 18, 2006 NCSL Bookstore Available Online

Saforian is proud to announce the arrival of the online bookstore from the National Conference of State Legislatures. Saforian worked closely with NCSL to deliver a logical user interface, graphical design, and front-end templates to integrate in their shopping system.

NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues. Their online bookstore helps promote this advocacy goal by simplifying the process of purchasing from their extensive publication inventory.

Saforian has been privileged to work on such an important project.

The National HIV/AIDS Partnership allows its partners and potential partners the ability to learn more about the epidemic and how to get involved.

Saforian has been working closely with HMA Associates to create the main National HIV/AIDS Partnership site and the supporting Red Ribbon Leadership Awards site.

Both sites were developed to provide semantic web standards and achieve a high level of accessibility for users with disabilities. This allows the clean, functional code to be easily maintained and updating.

January 12, 2006 Saforian Working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

Saforian is working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to improve their web presence. We have been working with the BBBS team by supporting a friendly new design and providing standards-based code.
