What is a news feed?
A news feed (also called an RSS feed) is a simple way for people to find out when a web site has new content and announcements. Instead of manually checking web sites for new information, you can use a news reader to browse the latest headlines and articles from many sites at once. These readers will automatically watch subscribed feeds and notify you of updates on your schedule.
Popular feed readers available to download are NetNewsWire (Mac) and FeedDemon (Windows). All you need to do is install the program and copy-and-paste an RSS/feed address into the application's "subscribe" dialog box. Modern web browsers such as Firefox, Safari 2.0, IE7, and Opera also support RSS — just click on the feed icon in your URL bar to use it.
