School Theatre Homepage

The Educational Theater Association (EdTA) hired Saforian to produce an efficient and aesthetically-pleasing online experience that incorporates both their new branding and organizational structure.

Before any work could begin, the Saforian team conducted in-person interviews over the course of 2 weeks to get to know theatre educators and students in order to address the needs of real users. Students and teachers were asked specific questions about the thespian programs in which they participated, as well as how EdTA enhanced their experiences in the thespian community. These interviews formed the foundation of the new information architecture and guided the selection of required functionality.

Saforian built the entire website in Drupal, which worked well when it was time to integrate with EdTA’s new custom CRM system.

Capturing the Show

With EdTA's every growing library of video based content it was crucial that the overall sites experience could evolve to provide full access and integration with visitor generated content initiatives.

Drupal CMS

Drupal was deemed the CMS solution of choice to capture and store all of EdTA's ever growing content. Drupal provided the flexibility needed to support the specific publishing requirements as well providing a robust authoring platform that could grow with EdTA's needs.

Custom Integration

Saforian developed custom Drupal code to communicate with EdTA's proprietary CRM system and pass site members from the Drupal website content to CRM content as needed. Code was incorporated where needed to give site members access to private content areas.

School Theatre Publications

"We were impressed that they were able to keep the big-picture concepts in front of them while sorting through the intricate technical puzzles that had to be solved to make the thing work."

Don Corothers

Saforian made sure the deep offline history of EdTA's print publications weren't lost with this new digital initiative. Key content from the publications were made available online while also providing access to back issues.
